He　whipped　out　his　pocket…book　and　extracted　something　from　it　which　he　held　between　his　finger　and　thumb。

Katherine　leant　forward；　scrutinizing　the　hairs　keenly。　
Poirot　nodded　his　head　slowly　several　times。
